It is with great sadness that we share with you the news that Anita Pickerden, Trustee of the Society, passed away recently following being diagnosed with cancer earlier in the year. Although receiving treatment, Anita continued to come along to a number of centenary events including our Civic Picnic in June.

Anita became a Trustee in 2016, and wanted to help the Society plan not only our centenary year but also shape the Society in the years beyond. Anita was instrumental in delivering our +PLUS Strategy, and through this, worked to broaden our vision and identify opportunities. She was always keen to get things sorted with lots of energy, enthusiasm and a smile!

Anita’s approach was open, honest and well-considered and her advice was always given hand-in-hand with wisdom, experience and knowledge. Anita was a great asset to the Society and the Board. Her counsel and friendship will be greatly missed by all the Trustees.

Our love and thoughts are with Bill, her partner, at this time.
