In providing a contemporary contemplation on civic pride and the role of citizenship today, Birmingham Civic Society chose to commission a new poem. Casey Bailey was selected to write the poem which features as part of the Heritage Lottery Funded project The City Beautiful, celebrating 100 years of Birmingham Civic Society. Casey who is a poet, teacher and rapper, has become an enthusiastic supporter of The Society. His poem is entitled Blue Plaque.
