As we enter the Society’s 100th year from June 2017 we are planning to celebrate both past successes whilst looking forward to how the Society can benefit Birmingham over the next 100 years. In keeping with our Centenary we will be celebrating 100 people, 100 blue plaques, 100 open places and 100 buildings (to name just a few!)

One of our first major events will run during National Tree Week in 2017 where we plan to plant over 1000 trees with Birmingham Trees for Life at a fantastic open day in the Lickey Hills.

We will also be celebrating our very first Honorary Secretary, William Haywood’s association with Birmingham Civic Society and Sir Gilbert Barling who was the Society’s first Chairman.

We want you to be involved so keep checking our website for how you can take part. There will be competitions, lectures, tours and lots of ways to get involved!
