Distinguished artist, William Gear was a pioneer of post-war abstract painting, who lived and worked in Birmingham for over 30 years.

This year marks 20 years since his death, and the RBSA Gallery are holding an exhibition of his work, from 1 – 18 November, to highlight his impact within Birmingham as an artist, curator and educator. We will be unveiling a Blue Plaque to William Gear at the Gallery whilst the exhibition is on, with a full report next month.
