Feedback from the 70 strong audience after the debate – Should Birmingham become the UK’s first motorless city? – was very positive. The panel, comprising Alan Bain, Caroline Coates, Anne Shaw and Professor Miles Tight impressed with their knowledge, expertise and responses to the questions raised and there was a real sense of considerately debating the issues – not just for Birmingham becoming a motorless city but the much broader issues associated with how we move around our city and the associated benefits…or problems! We are preparing a brief paper that picks up on the points raised and discussed, including some potential next steps.
